Competition Show Team

The team consists of five different age groups. The groups will be doing tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, and novelty routines. Performances will be at various nursing homes, fairs, festivals, parades and competitions. Each group will be participating in 2 or 3 contests this year.

All members of each group must take a tap and ballet class from one of the teachers from Judy Link’s Studio. In addition, members ages 7 years and older must take either a jazz or hip hop class. Competition groups will only practice once or twice a month in addition to their weekly lessons. Practice dates will be posted on the bulletin board at the studio and announced at every practice. Practices will usually be held on Saturdays after 1:15 p.m. or Sunday afternoons. Attendance at every practice is a necessity!

Before becoming a member of the competition show team, please remember we dance, as a team the entire season. Our season will start in January and run through September. Each group competes as a separate group, but we perform with all groups together called the Link-ette Show Team.

If your son or daughter has been selected to become a member of Judy Link’s Competition Show Team, he or she will be notified by invitation each December. Judy has the right to place each dancer in the group she sees fit according to age, size, and the ability of the dancer. Parent or Guardian cooperation is needed to ensure each member will have a fun and successful year!

Competition group age requirements

Judy’s Stars- Ages 4, 5, and 6. Must be 4 by March 1, 2010.
Judy’s Jewels- Ages 7, 8, and 9
Judy’s Crystals- Ages 10, 11, and 12
Judy’s Rhinestones- Ages 13, 14, and 15
Judy’s Emeralds- Ages 16 and over
